Open Quote Our family has had ALL four of our children attend this local private school. It is a GEM! The teachers are outstanding to a person and the main, driving force for us to continue here. In addition, the setting is idyllic. It is set in the woods, with wetlands and forests about. Science, technology, PE, SPanish are all very good, and consistently getting better. The Head of School, a recent hire is excellent, wise, seasoned and a very bright spot for the school. I cannot say enough good things about this learning center - except check it out or miss out at your peril!! Close Quote

Open Quote I feel so lucky to have found Gig Harbor Academy for my kids. They started in preschool and have continued on to the elementary grades. The campus is beautiful and natural and the teachers do a great job of using all aspects of the campus in their curriculum. What we as parents love is that the class sizes are small which allows the teachers to teach to our individual children's needs no matter what level they are at. The school community has been so open and welcoming since day one on campus. The student community is the same. Where would you find a 5th grader taking time out of their day to sit and chat with my preschooler as they were passing each other on campus. GHA's buddy system nurtures this aspect along with teaching kids how to be leaders. The teachers are amazing in how creative they are with how they teach the children. I have two kids and they have been in the same grades with the same teachers and yet their class year is very different from each other. Come check out how GHA can make your kids early learning fun, exciting and challenging and I know you will feel the same way we do. Close Quote

Open Quote Our family loves GHA. Our son has been at the school for four years and has really blossomed. The public school option wasn't working due to the large class sizes. The low teacher to student ratio has been incredibly good for his educational growth. My daughter has been at the school for three years and the experience for her has been just as wonderful. If a family is looking for a highly enriched environment for their kids, then I suggest they take a close look at Gig Harbor Academy. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
