Open Quote "You know what is great about my new school mommy? Well, EVERY school has at least one bully... except Cascadia! Everyone is really nice and works together." ~My 8 year old daughter

My daughter struggled in a traditional school setting because she was bored. She struggled with arguing at home because she craved independence. Cascadia has helped with both. The Montessori method allows for her to have flexibility in learning subjects, level, and time on task. This not only provides for just the right challenge, it also gives an outlet for her to be independent and feel responsible.
Probably my favorite thing is pick up time. When I ask her what she learned she can actually answer, and always does so with a smile on her face and excitement in her voice. Cascadia taught my daughter to love learning again. Close Quote

Open Quote Cascadia is such a wonderful place. My child is inspired and passionate about learning. He was bored in traditional school and tired of learning how to pass a test. When he was learning how to fill in bubbles (instead of learning the concepts behind the tests) I knew public school was not a good fit. My child wants to know how and why things work - not just memorize the correct answers. At Cascadia he is allowed to follow his interests and go as deep into the concepts as he desires. Children are celebrated and allowed to nurture their inner self. It is amazing how motivated he is and how much more he learns in this environment. The teachers are fantastic and always in communication with the parents. Close Quote

Open Quote Cascadia has been wonderful for my child, allowing him to flourish without the pressure or stigma that can occur in the regular school system. He has in his three years (grade 1-3) already had the opportunity to question the Mayor of Vancouver, professional geologists, and puppeteers, planned outings for some of his classmates, written stories and conducted research. It is amazing what kids can do when you take the desks-in-a-row mentality away. This school is amazing! Close Quote

Open Quote Cascadia provides stellar academics in a nurturing community setting. The students are inspired and supported in active learning that crosses the spectrum. Structured lessons are enhanced by the child's natural enthusiasm to pursue their interests using independent research. Communication with faculty and administration is ongoing and the staff is exceedingly approachable. If having every teacher double certified wasn't enough peace of mind, the test scores support the results attained by engaging the learners successfully. After school activities and summer camps are offered for further enrichment in music, science art, etc. The field trips are unparalleled in advancing the cultural and intellectual development of students in all age groups. I recommend it without reservation. We are already looking forward to next year! Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
