Open Quote I have had three children at Brighton over the past thirteen years. Two have gone on to advanced placement classes in high school and the third is still in Brighton's middle school.

One unique thing is their philosophy about learning. Children learn best by doing things, by building, feeling and touching... and Brighton gets that. Even in the middle school my kids built catapults and cardboard canoes to test scientific theories and mathematical priciples. The learing is real and my kids left Brighton loving learning, organized, and ready to take on the next challenge.

Class sizes are unreal at about 15. Most of the teachers have masters degrees and are very professional, yet approachable. Yes, sometimes it feels like their social group is a little small, but the benefits of a warm, friendly environment, broad curriculm and great academics outweigh that. Brighton skis on Fridays in the winter too. How cool is that. Great place to raise a kid. Close Quote

Open Quote Our children did very well at Brighton. The curriculum is very well rounded, the teaching staff is above average and the music/drama and art program is exceptional.
The only downside to Brighton is the campus is not optimal and the school is private so there is a decided lack of diversity and socially, the classes are so small there aren't always enough kids for friendships. However it is that small class size that allows so much learning to fit in a school day.
Brighton isn't perfect but I would recommend it to almost anyone looking for a small, secular school. Close Quote
