Summary

Cascadia High School is a very small Tumwater, Washington, school serving 134 students in grades 8–12 on the same New Market Street campus as New Market High School and New Market Skills Center. It is part of the relatively strong Tumwater School District, which ranks in the 74th percentile statewide, but Cascadia’s recent school-level results are much weaker than the district’s overall performance.

Cascadia’s latest ranking is 388th out of 396 Washington high schools, placing it in the 2nd percentile with zero stars. Its 2024–2025 graduation rate was 62.7%, compared with 90.6% for the district and 82.6% statewide, while its dropout rate was 20.3%, versus 6.2% in the district and 9.8% statewide. Nearby schools reported considerably higher graduation rates, including 96.8% at Tumwater High School, 92.3% at Olympia High School, and 91.9% at A G West Black Hills High School. Even the smaller, structurally more comparable New Market High School reported an 87.0% graduation rate.

Academic results are also a concern: in 2025–2026, 12.5% of Cascadia students were proficient in English language arts and 24.53% in science, well below district and state results. The math result was suppressed by the state, so it should be treated as unknown rather than zero. Cascadia serves a higher-poverty population than most nearby schools, with 55.97% of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch, and its small enrollment can make yearly results fluctuate. Still, the combination of low proficiency, high dropout, and weak graduation rates points to important needs in attendance, credit completion, re-engagement, and broad academic support.
