The school is a standout performer, particularly in English Language Arts where 83% of students are proficient—significantly higher than nearby schools like Sumner High School (79%) and the state average (53%). It also graduates over 94% of its students, a rate that outpaces most area schools. This success is supported by the highest per-student spending among comparable local traditional high schools.

While math proficiency is solid and above the state average, it is an area for growth compared to the district's high standard. When compared to other high performers like White River High School, Bonney Lake holds a stronger overall ranking and excels in core academic areas, demonstrating its position as a leading educational institution in the region.
