Summary

Crestwood Elementary is a public Pre-K through 5th grade school serving 393 students in the highly-regarded Sumner-Bonney Lake School District in Bonney Lake, WA.

Academically, Crestwood is a strong performer, consistently earning 4-star ratings and scoring well above state averages in English, Math, and Science. While its overall state ranking is slightly below some district peers like Emerald Hills Elementary, Crestwood's most distinctive strength is its exceptional support for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, ranking in the top 5% of schools statewide for this group. This "equity excellence" is notable when compared to schools with similar demographics, such as Bonney Lake Elementary and Daffodil Valley Elementary.

The school's higher per-student spending appears to be strategically used to support this mission, yielding strong results. Crestwood shows consistent performance across genders and has recovered well from pandemic-related dips. While test scores for some student groups can vary year-to-year, the school provides a uniquely effective environment that balances high achievement with exceptional support, making it a compelling choice for families within the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District.

Open Quote The leadership is seriously lacking if not damaging to students. Many teachers are new and seem overwhelmed which leads to lack of communication. The funding at this district is nonexistent so when questions get asked about security or educational issues they blame it on that and say they cannot solve the issue. Meanwhile they have a PTA who could be fundraising for some of these issues. I have multiple kids at multiple schools in the district but this one seems particularly frustrating to deal with as a parent. Close Quote

Open Quote Rude! Some teachers just need to retire. New head staff did not help in a serious situation involving a student and a parent. She didnt want to offend anyone inspite of a no contact order. Student had to change schools. Close Quote
