Summary

Rosalia Elementary & Secondary School is a small, alternative public school serving about 163 students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade in the rural Rosalia School District.

As a small, alternative school, Rosalia Elementary & Secondary School offers a unique educational setting with a very low student-to-teacher ratio, allowing for more individualized attention. The school invests significantly in each student, with per-student spending well above typical state levels. While overall test scores are generally below state averages, the school shows notable strengths in specific areas, particularly in middle school science where students have outperformed the state. The graduation rate has also consistently been higher than the Washington state average in recent years.

Academic performance varies considerably between different grades and subjects, with math and early-grade English Language Arts being areas where the school seeks improvement. It's important to note that with such a small student body, year-to-year changes in test scores can appear large due to the performance of just a few students. The school's designation as an alternative school means it serves a specific population, which is a key factor for parents to consider when looking at its programs and results.

Open Quote Very small classrooms, average is 14 per grade. The elementary education is excellent. However as students journey into high school choices are limited, there are very few electives and variety for different learning types. If you do not like a teacher tuff luck because you'll have them for 2-4 years. The advantages are no cut sports and the few activities you are guaranteed a place in. Close Quote
