Summary

Stillwater Elementary is a public K-5 school serving 491 students in Carnation, WA, operating within the highly-regarded Riverview School District.

Academically, Stillwater is a solid 4-star school where students consistently outperform state averages in English, Math, and especially Science. It holds its own within its district, performing better than Carnation Elementary School but trailing the top-performing Cherry Valley Elementary School in most subjects. An interesting finding is that Stillwater's science scores are actually stronger than Cherry Valley's. However, the school's performance for some student groups has been inconsistent year-to-year, indicating a key area for focus.

When looking at the broader area, schools in neighboring districts like Lake Washington School District and Northshore School District—such as East Ridge Elementary or Christa Mcauliffe Elementary—often have higher test scores, highlighting a competitive regional landscape. Stillwater operates efficiently with its resources and shows historical strength in supporting special education students, but faces the challenge of ensuring all students make consistent progress, particularly in upper-grade math.

Open Quote Excellent PTSA involvement! The student teacher ratio is low. We moved from Snoqualmie Ridge and both kids are doing so well at Stillwater. The music program has been great. Kids are offered onsite Y programs after school like robotics and art. We couldn't be happier. Close Quote
