Summary

Mint Valley Elementary is a K–5 school in Longview serving 366 students in the Longview School District, with a relatively high-need student population and several nearby elementary schools for comparison. The school’s 2024–25 student-teacher ratio was 15.2, and 73.5% of students qualified for free or reduced-price lunch. Mint Valley’s latest statewide ranking places it around the 29th percentile, but its longer-term position has improved considerably from the bottom few percentiles in the mid-2010s.

Math is the school’s clearest academic strength. In 2025–26, 40.76% of students reached proficiency in math—about 5.7 percentage points above the district average and only about 2.4 points below the state average. Fourth-grade math was especially strong at 49.15%, nearly matching the state result.
