As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote It's important to realize that Soos Creek has large Special Education and ESL programs that bring their overall school test scores down. Don't dismiss Soos Creek based on test scores alone. I love this small school. My 'average' kids are excelling. It's small so the teachers and children have bonds that last for years and the entire school feels like a small community of family. We have a great new principal and vice-principal too. Open Quote Under the current administration I have observed a steady decline in the quality of education and supervision in this school. I have had more than one child attend this school over the past ten years and can say that I can not wait until my current child is able to go to Sunrise Elementary school across the street. The problems of this school are too numerous to mention. Student bullying is only second to the teachers bullying. It is a reflection of the leadership of the current principal. The school is overcrowded and understaffed. Classes are blended with different grades in the same class room because Kent School District will not properly staff the school. The school used to be a small local school meant for students who lived within walking distance. With the closing of other Kent schools, students are now bused in causing a traffic nightmare. It is a miracle no one has been hit by a car. I have seen several occasions of near fights between drivers. This level of incompetence was unseen before the installation of Principal Drabny. Under her supervision teachers are allowed to be impersonal, uncaring, P.C. enforcing sycophants. Their constant decline in test scores back up this claim. This school needs an entire overhaul of its current master plan and needs to go back to the basics. Unfortunately, I believe it is too late to save this school. If a change of leadership was what it took to bring this school to it's knees, a change of leadership may be needed to restore it's core values. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
