Grantham Elementary is a K–6 school serving 252 students in Clarkston, Washington, within the Clarkston School District. It is located less than a mile from Parkway Elementary, about a mile from Highland Elementary, and just over two miles from Heights Elementary. Grantham ranks 927th of 1,138 Washington elementary schools, placing it in the 19th percentile with a one-star rating. The school serves a high-need population: 85.71% of students qualified for free or reduced-price lunch in 2024–25.
Academic results are currently below both the district and state averages. In 2025–26, 30.99% of students were proficient in English language arts, 27.22% in math, and 31.91% in science. Grantham also had the lowest results in all three subjects among the three Clarkston elementary schools. For comparison, Heights Elementary posted 56.54% ELA, 43.93% math, and 48.57% science proficiency, while Parkway Elementary posted 46.74%, 43.89%, and 39.53%. Grantham does have some encouraging resource indicators: its student-teacher ratio fell to 11.6 to 1, the lowest among the comparison schools, and its per-student spending was higher than that of its same-district peers. These figures do not show how resources are used, but they suggest that strengthening instruction and support—particularly during the transition into fifth and sixth grade—may be more important than simply adding staffing.
