Open Quote Terribly disappointing experience for my family. And the board members don’t care either. I wish we had gone to Veritas instead. Close Quote

Open Quote Hunter is great. There was some transition in 2021 when the school leadership changed, but in the last 3 years it has been growing leaps and bounds. The school is also acquiring property to build for the long term. It is worth taking a look, great community and kids work hard but are very happy there!! Close Quote

Open Quote The real truth: We - and many families not represented in reviews - love and wholly endorse our school.

My oldest started in 2019. Our younger kids are in lower grades.

Hunter faculty, administration, students, & parents form a special school, dedicated to the glory of God.

Hunter students possess appreciation for truth & beauty, a deep confidence in themselves, & an admirable understanding of their faith. They trust the Lord & work hard without excuses.

Is it the right fit? Visit & meet us to decide. The fruit of the Spirit is evident. Our programs are growing. Our faculty is excited for their calling.

We’ve grown from 30 students to 150+ in 6 years, received full ACCS accreditation, & our High School starts this Fall.

We prioritize new families’ needs ABOVE the handful who chose to leave (there will always be a few at any private school.)

We can’t imagine a better fit.

Actual Hunter families, committed to our mission (a large majority compared to a few reviews) agree. Close Quote

Open Quote We enrolled our children at Hunter Classical Christian School for three years, drawn by its promise of a Christian, classical education. Sadly, what we experienced was far from what was advertised. The school's environment is toxic, driven by fear-based discipline and troubling situations that left our children anxious, disengaged and insecure. This approach caused lasting emotional and academic harm, which we're still addressing.

The administration's petty behavior--marked by manipulation, dishonesty, gaslighting, and dismissive responses to concerns--made things worse. They prioritize image over addressing real issues, leaving families feeling unheard or cut out.
Disturbingly, children are exploited purely for the school's image, enduring gaslighting and mistreatment that mirrors how parents are treated.

In 2023-24, at least eight families (that I know of) left this small school in 2024-25, at least 17 families (~40 children), including ours, left, some mid-year. Many of these families were trusted volunteers in the community. Seven teachers and administrators also departed this year, reflecting the chaotic environment.

I wish I had seen honest reviews before enrolling. If this helps even just one family avoid the pain our children and many others have endured, it's worth sharing. Please do your research before going here and don't disregard the red flags you may see or experience. Close Quote

Open Quote This school was doing great until the Founder/Head, Dr. McLean was overthrown by her Board who then took over. The new people have no clue on how to run a school and they do whatever they like. It’s a joke. The teachers here don’t have a learning plan and don’t have anyone to review their work. Don’t waste your money here. There is nothing classical about this school. Close Quote
