Open Quote Before you enroll you child here you MUST do a crime check of the area!! Go to crimemapping.com and you will see that this school is located in a horrible crime ridden area of the beachfront. There is a men's halfway house across the street and the apartment building that shares property with the school is drug infested. The security for the school at best is non existent. My children went to this school and had I known just how awful this area was, I would never had sent them here! The school itself is very average however after leaving here and child(ren) going to high school I had to invest alot of money in Sylvans to get them up to par. MY advice to anyone considering going to this school is to go and park on 16th street facing west and just watch what goes on...Pay special attention to the house located next to the motel as that is the half way house. The apartment building across from the motel is very interesting to watch as well...Good luck with this school you will need it. Close Quote

Open Quote This is a wonderful catholic school located at the oceanfront in Virginia Beach. It is a small school that offers an excellent academic education in a religious setting. We have had 4 children in the school and could not give the school enough praises. The family atmosphere at the school has enabled our children to grow with confidence and become well rounded students. They are ready for high school academically, physically, and spiritually when they graduate from 8th grade at Star of the Sea School. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
