Open Quote We have been at QofA for 9 years and our oldest graduated in June 2020. She tells us constantly that the education she received at QofA School has made the transition to high school very smooth and she is taking all honors classes. This is a great school with teachers who are dedicated and passionate about developing children academically and spiritually. Highly recommended - even if you are only expecting to be assigned to the Northern Virginia area for a few years. Close Quote

Open Quote A tight-knit school overseen by a religious order with a focus on education. Excellent academics, and your children will be cared for spritually and academically. Close Quote

Open Quote My daughter attend to this school since kinder garden. The school run by favoritism. The teachers only give attention for certain student only. The middle school math teacher is the worst. She doesn't teach the student properly and doesn't want to students to ask question. She says mean staff to the kids and doesn't show what's being a catholic and be a good example. Please don't sent to your children to this school. Close Quote

Open Quote Queen of Apostles School has been great to my daughter, throughout the year she has learned to write, to add, to read just to name a few. Mrs. Dowden is very sweet and has great patience with the little ones, I cannot thank enough the school for everything they have done for my daughter. Close Quote

Open Quote I am a parent of a kindergardener in Mrs. Dowden’s class and this is our first year at Queen of Apostles School. I was very perplexed about sending him to the public school assigned to our address due to its lackluster ratings and reviews. A coworker told me about QofA and I looked into it. I am extremely glad that I did and that I ultimately chose to enroll my son in this school. He has been such a happy kid since he began kindergarten two months ago, and judging by the information he shares and the classwork he brings home at the end of each week, he seems to be learning so much. I attribute his love of the school to Mrs. Dowden, a truly amazing kindergarten teacher, and to the caring and supportive school staff at QofA. I like that the school’s PTO is extremely active and organizes a plethora of events and activities (Fall Festival, International Day, 5k race, etc. ) for students, their families and the community. I also love the fact that the school puts so much emphasis on parent involvement and volunteering. It only proves that the school cares about students' academic success and strengthening the school community. Close Quote

Open Quote Both of our children have passed through the doors of Queen of Apostles Catholic School and have flourished scholastically, socially and spiritually. This educational foundation contributed to our oldest son's success in a challenging International Baccalaureate (IB) program in high school...eventually attending the University of California Berkeley.
Our other son (current student) literally runs to the front door, eager to begin each day. He looks forward to weekly visits/experiments in the science lab (microscopes, lab coats) and participating in the lego/robotics club. As a parent, I appreciate the focused attention our children receive with smaller class sizes and the interaction the older children have with the younger ones (i.e. 5th grade prayer partners at Mass with Kinders). There is an active PTO, and QofA's annual fund-raising/social events include a 5K run/1M walk, "Trick or Trunk," International Festival, Pancake Breakfasts. We are fortunate to be part of the QofA family! Close Quote

Open Quote I would not recommend this school due to their low academic, religious and behavioral standards.
My child entered Q of A as a transfer student from another state as a first grader. The first grade teacher was very inexperienced and did not know how to teach students at different learning levels. My child became bored, withdrawn and lost interest in his studies. We took our concerns up with the teacher and were assured that he will be challenged with additional math and spelling work. Unfortunately that only lasted a month, at maximum. We considered a new school for second grade and were reassured by the principal that the second grade teacher will be able to fulfill our child's needs in the next school year. Yet again we were disappointed not only academically yet with the low-level of behavior standards as our son was hit by another student and the school failed to inform us of the incident. This was not the first time our child experienced this and I believe it would not have been the last. I would not recommend this school for students that are not able to defend themselves when the appropriate authorities fail to do so. There are other private schools nearby that will focus on the well-being of your child, rather than a child to fill a seat in class. The school is small, the recess area consists of the school's parking lot and in general, lacks an experienced leader that is willing and competent. Close Quote
