Thomas Hunter Middle is a small, rural middle school in Mathews, Virginia, serving 176 students in grades 6–7 as part of Mathews County Public Schools, and it currently ranks in the 37th percentile statewide — below nearby Yorktown Middle, Peasley Middle, St. Clare Walker Middle, and Page Middle, all of which rank in the top third of Virginia middle schools.
