Check Elementary is a small, rural PK-7 school in Check, Virginia, serving 277 students as part of Floyd County Public Schools. The school currently ranks in the 33rd percentile of Virginia elementary schools (747th out of 1,111), a meaningful improvement from the 13th percentile in 2021-22. The school's most distinctive feature is a clear split: students in grades 3 and 4 tend to lag district and state averages, while students in grades 6 and 7—particularly in math and civics—post results that meet or exceed state benchmarks.
