Legacy Preparatory Academy is a public K–9 school in Woods Cross, a Davis County community north of Salt Lake City, serving 1,016 students through its own charter district. The school is one of the larger nearby alternative schools and is substantially bigger than Ascent Academies of Utah Farmington and Mana Academy Charter School. Its closest broad comparisons are American Preparatory Academy - Accelerated School, which serves K–12 students, and Utah Connections Academy, an online K–12 school. Because nearby schools vary widely in size, grade span, and mission, comparisons are best viewed as general context rather than exact rankings.

Attendance has improved significantly. Chronic absenteeism fell from 39.1% in 2021–2022 to 22.7% in 2024–2025, slightly below Utah’s 23.8% rate.
