Open Quote I pulled my child from this school over concerns for his safety and welfare. The first grade "teacher" would not state qualifications or experience except to say she was in a kindergarten class. Her written notes to us did not inspire confidence in her abilities. The "administrator" is supposedly an ex-military intel guy. By-the-way I am a retired enlisted military medic. Intro over, now on to it. The administrator is remarkably aggressive in voice and action towards the children and parents, but specifically towards children and women I should say as my wife and other mothers discovered. The "teacher" used an isolation chair for children who were not paying attention. NOT FOR 5, 10, 15 MINUTES, BUT FOR ENTIRE SCHOOL DAYS. We were not informed of this practice and found out at the first parent teacher conference after our son had been in the chair for four entire school days per the "teacher". After discussing this concern with other "real" teachers I know, a pediatric healthcare specialist, and my wife I insisted my son not be placed in the "isolation chair" especially without notifying us and informed his teacher the next morning. She agreed. I received a call from the "administrator" who acted like a jerk for lack of a nicer word. I again insisted then demanded the isolation chair not be used, especially without notifying us. He finally agreed. Two days later we received a typed note stating the isolation chair would not be used for a trial of two weeks then the issue would be readdressed. My wife and I were willing to accept this so we let it go. Within a week we noticed our son acting out at home for two days in a row in a manner not normal for him and became suspicious. On the third day of school I discovered to my dismay that he had been isolated again. This time I removed him from this horrible environment. Mind you, this took place with no notification to us and this took place a week after we received the letter from the administrator. So, we were lied to either by the teacher or administrator. This was the last of a few problems we had dealt with. I honestly feel my child was in an unsafe environment in every aspect and only hope that no other child is harmed by this supposed teacher and administrator. Close Quote

Open Quote I can not recommend this school! The school administrator will support his staff over the concerns of the parents to the extent that the overall school enrollment has began to suffer in the 2011 school year with children being withdrawn at multiple grade levels. I must say that no other school can come close the curriculum offered by LVCA but I can not recommend this school as I am looking for another school to enroll my child. The teachers hired are like night and day, either they are outstanding or not fit to teach. As this is a private school I can not see positive change in the schools future unless more oversight is bestowed upon the school single administrator. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
