Summary

Blue Haze Elementary in Fort Worth, TX, serves 735 students in grades 1-5 and is part of the White Settlement Independent School District (Isd). Once a solid performer that peaked in the 79th percentile statewide in 2016-2017, the school has experienced a dramatic decline, dropping from the 66th percentile in 2020-2021 to the 14th percentile (1 star) in the most recent 2025-2026 data, making it one of the lowest-performing schools in its district.

The school shows a stark contrast in serving different student groups. It excels with its Gifted and Talented students, who consistently rank in the top 10-34% of the state. However, it struggles significantly with its Low Socioeconomic Status students, who rank in the bottom 5% of the state. This failure extends across nearly all demographics, with Hispanic students falling from the 39th percentile to the 6th percentile, and male students dropping from the 44th percentile to the 9th percentile in just two years. In core academics, Blue Haze underperforms its district average in 3rd and 4th grade Reading and Math, though it shows a relative strength in 5th grade, outperforming the district in both subjects.

Compared to nearby schools, the gap is striking. The Fine Arts Academy, a magnet school just 2.28 miles away in the same district, serves a more affluent population with smaller class sizes and scored 48.31% proficient in 3rd Grade Reading versus Blue Haze’s 23.4%. Blue Haze’s per-student spending ($8,968) is the lowest in its district and significantly less than nearby Fort Worth ISD schools, which spend over $10,000. With a higher student-teacher ratio of 17.5, the school appears resource-constrained, making the challenge of reversing its steep decline even more difficult without targeted intervention and increased support for its economically disadvantaged students.
