Summary

Wyatt Elementary in Plano, TX, is a small, high-performing K-5 school within the Plano Independent School District (Isd), serving 318 students with a low student-teacher ratio of 11.4:1. This school has consistently ranked in the top 2% of Texas elementary schools for the past decade, currently placing 75th out of 4,627 schools statewide, and it excels particularly in mathematics, with 4th-grade proficiency rates reaching 91.8%—over 30 points higher than the district average. Its small size and low ratio allow for individualized instruction, making it a standout choice for families seeking a focused academic environment.

Wyatt’s performance is especially notable for specific student groups, ranking in the 96th percentile for English Language Learners and the 97th percentile for Special Education students, indicating strong support systems. Compared to nearby schools like Skaggs Elementary (just 0.85 miles away), Wyatt has a math edge, while Skaggs slightly leads in reading. Other top performers like Talley Elementary also show high math scores, but Wyatt’s decade-long consistency in the top 1% sets it apart from schools like Mathews Elementary or Haun Elementary, which have more variable rankings.

In contrast to larger Frisco Independent School District (Isd) schools like Borchardt Elementary or Taylor Elementary, which average over 670 students with higher student-teacher ratios, Wyatt achieves elite results with a more resource-intensive, smaller-class model. This efficiency makes it a compelling option for parents prioritizing individualized attention and sustained academic excellence.

Open Quote We have been at Wyatt for many years and if you have an average to above average student you will do well. If your child struggles you will have a different view of Wyatt. It is a constant fight to get the programs you child may need. We have testing that proves my child needs certain programs and we were told that they did not believe the results nor would they test again. The principle has said many inappropriate things to me to the point we will have lost all confidence in getting any help that my child needs and will wait until middle school to approach it again or pursue it privately.
