Summary

McMasters Elementary is a public elementary school in Pasadena, Texas, serving 356 students in grades PK-4 as part of the Pasadena Independent School District (ISD).

McMasters Elementary has shown significant academic improvement in recent years, moving from a low statewide ranking of 3470 out of 4581 Texas elementary schools in 2021-2022 to a high of 636 out of 4675 in 2023-2024, earning a 4-star rating from SchoolDigger. The school's performance on STAAR tests is notably higher than the Pasadena ISD and Texas state averages across multiple grade levels and subjects, with particularly strong results among Hispanic and low-income students. For example, in 2024-2025, 65.22% of 4th-grade students at McMasters Elementary were proficient or better in STAAR/Reading, compared to 49.21% for Pasadena ISD and 53.73% for Texas.

While McMasters Elementary outperforms the district and state on academic measures, it is interesting to note that some nearby schools within the Pasadena ISD, such as Pomeroy Elementary and Golden Acres Elementary, have lower statewide rankings and test scores. However, when compared to schools outside the district, such as Carpenter Elementary in the Deer Park ISD, the academic performance of McMasters Elementary appears less impressive, as Carpenter Elementary consistently outperforms McMasters on STAAR tests.

Open Quote This school is very noisy and questioned my son about things that shouldn't be bought up with a child and used that information to call cps on me. Then they lied about knowing who called or whatever. Im sick of this damn school and all the lying people who work there. Close Quote
