Summary

Dellview Elementary is a small, high-poverty school in San Antonio, TX, serving 326 students from Pre-K through 5th grade within the North East Independent School District (Isd).

Academically, Dellview has faced significant challenges, with its state ranking dropping to the bottom 12% of Texas elementary schools in the most recent year. A major concern is a steep decline in 3rd-grade math, where only about 14% of students were proficient—far below the state and district averages. However, there is a bright spot in 4th-grade math, where performance was the school's strongest subject. The school also struggles consistently in 5th-grade science. On a positive note, Dellview offers a favorable student-teacher ratio of 12.2 to 1, which is lower than many nearby schools like Arnold Elementary and Maverick Elementary, allowing for more personalized attention.

An interesting comparison is with nearby Olmos Elementary, which serves a very similar student population but achieves dramatically better results, ranking in the 69th percentile statewide. This suggests that school-level factors like leadership and instruction, rather than demographics, are key to improvement. Dellview’s per-student spending is also higher than Olmos's, indicating that funding alone isn't the issue. The school has shown it can rebound from low points in the past, but the recent, sharp decline across all student groups signals an urgent need for targeted interventions, especially in early math.

Open Quote This school seems to pass students along with very little effort. Since my kids have attended they bring home almost no homework and never do spelling tests. Although the teachers are nice I feel as if this school puts in very little effort in reinforcing their studies at home. Also the principal here is very rude. She always speaks to you in a very condescending tone and is useless when it comes to getting help from her. I absolutely hate dealing with her because you can guarantee nothing will get done. She should be replaced with someone who understands how to treat people and someone who goes the extra mile to address parental concerns. Close Quote

Open Quote this school has racial issues.there are students like that and their staff.it unfortunate that daughter had to be the one to experience this but it was a lesson learned and i suggest any african american parent taking their child to that school to be careful.the principal is useless and her assistant is not as bad but i mean she is not the head boss in charge so shes irrelevant.the principals name is martha stafford and she needs counseling on how to not let her personal feeling interact with a students future.please bewaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeee....
