As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This school has been so amazing. It is a small school with a small town environment. The staff encourages parental involvement and the teachers really make a point to keep the students engaged and excited about learning. Substituted at several other schools besides Stewart and I feel like this is one of the best Elementary schools around Lubbock because you do not have to fit in and they are all so welcoming. Despite the 2 out of 10 (which does not explain how this school actually is, you can't judge the school until you know), I feel like Stewart provides the building blocks for success and I would highly recommend this school to anyone who feels like a big LISD school is too much for them. Open Quote I love the small school atmosphere that the staff gives you! The teachers really do care about your kids and do their best to get them prepared for the next level. The test scores are a terrible reflection of this school because it is for a fact it is not because of the staff, just like at every school, some parents just do not care about their child's education and use school as a "break" from their children. I can ensure you that the kids here learn and the teachers do a fabulous job!! Close Quote

Open Quote This school is so great and the teachers are welcoming on a one on one level. I love the small school atmosphere and they teach active learning which is a critical componet in curriculum because it keeps the child engaged. I don't care what the scores show, it's not just the teacher's NOT doing their jobs, it is usually because of the child and mostly the parents who don't care enough about their child's education and that happens at every school. I really love being here and would encourage it to anyone who wants their child to be in a great enviornment!! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
