Summary

Indian Creek Elementary in Carrollton, TX, is a mid-sized school serving 490 students in grades PK-5 within the Lewisville Independent School District (Isd), a district rated above average statewide. The school has seen a decline from a peak 4-star rating in 2017-2018 to a current 3-star rating, placing it in the 53rd percentile for the 2025-2026 school year. While it benefits from a low student-teacher ratio of 12.5:1 and spends $10,544 per student—more than nearby high-performing schools—it struggles to translate these resources into competitive academic results.

Indian Creek is geographically and academically sandwiched between two vastly different performance tiers. Within its own district, it is the lowest-performing elementary among immediate neighbors: Castle Hills Elementary (1.05 miles away) is a 5-star school in the 97th percentile, and Homestead Elementary (1.14 miles away) is a 4-star school in the 89th percentile. These schools consistently achieve proficiency rates 20-40 percentage points higher than Indian Creek in nearly every subject. Conversely, Indian Creek significantly outperforms schools like Sheffield Elementary (2.33 miles away, 7th percentile) in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District (Isd).

The school shows a troubling decline in math proficiency, with 4th-grade math plummeting to 25.35% in 2024-2025 before recovering slightly to 44.87% in 2025-2026. Science scores for 5th graders are persistently low, reaching just 28.2% proficiency in 2024-2025—32 percentage points behind Castle Hills Elementary. However, recent data offers a glimmer of hope: the school’s overall rank improved from the 46th percentile in 2023-2024 to the 53rd percentile in 2025-2026, and math scores in 4th and 5th grade showed a strong rebound, suggesting corrective measures may be taking effect.

Open Quote Walked in to find out information about school programs, class sizes, and see a tour of the school and was greeted friendly. But after waiting a few minutes a woman came back to me to say the principal was out sick and the assistant principal was "too busy to help me". She handed me a piece of paper and said everything is online... enroll your daughter by visiting our website. I wouldn't enroll my daughter at this school if it was the LAST EDUCATIONAL INSTITUATION IN THE WORLD!!!! Stay away from this school and these administrators who only think our children are numbers and not people and WHO CLEARLY DON'T CARE ENOUGH To take time out to speak to a parent or potential parent about their child's education!!!!!
