Summary

Klein Collins High School is a large, comprehensive public high school in Klein, TX, serving 3,360 students in grades 9-12 as part of the highly-regarded Klein Independent School District (Isd).

Klein Collins is a solid, above-average school with a strong graduation rate averaging 94.6% and a very low dropout rate. However, it is the lowest-ranked of the three traditional high schools in its district, currently holding a 3-star rating (57th percentile statewide) compared to Klein High School (81st percentile) and Klein Oak High School (75th percentile). The school has experienced a steady decline in its statewide rank over the past decade, and its test scores lag behind district averages in every subject. A persistent challenge is Algebra I, where only 52.2% of students were proficient, significantly below the district average. On a positive note, the school has shown recent improvement in supporting its Special Education and English Language Learner students.

Interestingly, just 3.3 miles away, Carl Wunsche Senior High School in Spring Independent School District (Isd) is a top-performing magnet school ranked in the 97th percentile, demonstrating that high achievement is possible even with a more economically diverse student body. While Klein Collins is the lowest-ranked in its own district, it still significantly outperforms its immediate neighbors in Spring ISD, such as Spring High School and Westfield High School, which rank in the bottom 16% of the state. This highlights the value of the Klein ISD environment while also pointing to a need for strategic focus to reverse the school's declining trend.

Open Quote My daughter has attended Klein Collins since her sophomore year and is beginning her senior year next week. I have been HIGHLY satisfied with KCH since day one. All schools are going to have some little issues, and KCH is no different, but it is an awesome school with teachers and staff that are very attentive to the kids. Their AFJROTC is an amazing program. They are currently National Champions in Drill Team and Color Guard. I've raised 6 children and have had children attend high school in North Carolina, Florida and here. By far, Klein Collins is the best of all of them. I definitely give it 5 stars! Close Quote
