Karen Wagner High School is a public high school in San Antonio, Texas, serving 2,224 students in grades 9-12. The school is part of the Judson Independent School District, which is ranked 768 out of 961 districts in the state and has a 1-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Despite being part of the Judson ISD, Karen Wagner High School has consistently ranked in the bottom quartile of Texas high schools over the past five years, maintaining a 1-star rating from SchoolDigger. The school's performance across various student subgroups, including females, males, Hispanic students, and low-socioeconomic status students, is also concerning, with the school ranking in the bottom quartile for these groups. Additionally, the school's four-year graduation rate has fluctuated between 80-85%, which is lower than the state average, and its dropout rate has been higher than the state average, ranging from 2.9-5.5% in recent years.

When compared to nearby schools, such as Robert G. Cole Middle/High School, which is part of the Ft. Sam Houston Independent School District and consistently outperforms Karen Wagner High School, the challenges facing the school become even more evident. However, the school's ranking for gifted and talented students suggests that there may be pockets of academic excellence within the school, which could be a starting point for improving its overall performance.

Open Quote May daughter is in her senior year (2012-2013. She has attended Judson ISD schools from kindergarten. The school district has been very instrumental in helping her to excell and strive to do her best in all that she does.

We are a military family and traveled from many years, settling here in San Antonio, in time for our youngest to have the opportunity to attend school in one location for her entire experience from K-12.

Judson ISD has grown since we arrived, however the schools have also grown and improved.

Wagner High School is the newest High School in the District my daughter has excelled both in athletics and academics. She will graduate this year well on her way to being a productive member of society and it is my belief that the staff and teachers of Judson ISD, and most recently Wagner High School deserve a part of the credit for this accomplishment.
