Summary

Faye Webb Elementary is a high-performing PK-5 school in Corpus Christi, TX, serving 634 students and part of the Corpus Christi Independent School District (Isd). This school stands out as a clear academic leader in its area, ranking in the 90th percentile statewide (446th out of 4,627 schools) for the 2025-2026 school year, while many nearby schools like Moore Elementary and Schanen Estates Elementary rank in the bottom half of the state. What truly sets Faye Webb apart is its exceptional performance for all student groups, including those often underserved: its African American students ranked 5th out of 1,905 schools statewide, and its low-income students ranked in the 96th percentile, showing the school is highly effective at closing achievement gaps.

Test scores at Faye Webb are dramatically higher than district and state averages, with proficiency rates often 20-30 percentage points above peers. For example, 3rd grade reading proficiency is 82.43% compared to the district's 48.68%, and 5th grade science proficiency is 50.93% versus the district's 27.3%. The school achieves these results while spending less per student ($8,858) than lower-performing neighbors like Sanders Elementary ($12,320) and Club Estates ($11,071), demonstrating remarkable resource efficiency. While the school has a lower percentage of students receiving free/reduced lunch (about 50%) compared to nearby schools like Smith Elementary (87.5%), its success with its own low-income students proves its methods work for all backgrounds.

Faye Webb has shown consistent excellence over the past decade, with a temporary dip during the pandemic years (dropping to the 77th-82nd percentile) before rebounding strongly to the 90th percentile. The school's only relative area for growth is special education, which ranks in the 80th percentile—still strong but below its other stellar results. Given its massive performance gap compared to schools just a mile away, Faye Webb is likely a "destination school" for families in the area who can choose it, contributing to its more balanced student profile and making it a top choice for parents seeking academic excellence in Corpus Christi.

Open Quote This school is exceptional! The staff is always helpful and friendly. They go above and beyond the call of duty keeping us informed on upcoming events through postings on their websites, emails and messaging. I am been very happy with my child's kindergarten experience and looking forward to her educational adventure at this amazing elementary, Faye Webb! Close Quote

Open Quote Where do I begin? If you're looking for a school with a friendly staff, DO NOT choose Faye Webb. The woman that works outside for the Pre K and Kindergarten car line has a horrendous attitude. She yells at the students and parents if the kids are not moving quickly enough to get out of the car. I've been yelled at several times in front of my child, to the point that she cried, because in the staff members opinion, we were being rude and holding up the traffic. These were her exact words. The communication to parents about certain events, such as picture day, is lacking. The students wear uniforms but on certain picture days they can wear regular clothing. We never know which day is which because they don't send anything home to tell you. I was snapped at by a teacher for sending my child in the wrong clothes, and when I confronted the vice principal about the situation she immediately got an attitude with me in front of my child. Those people are the most hateful and rude people I have ever been in contact with, and at this point I believe my child and I are being targeted and bullied. I can't wait to pull her out of there. Don't send your kids there! Close Quote
