Summary

Windsor Park G/T is a magnet elementary school in Corpus Christi, TX, serving 602 students in grades 1-5 as part of the Corpus Christi Independent School District (Isd), and it consistently ranks among the top 10 schools in Texas, including a #4 ranking for the 2025-2026 school year.

This school stands out dramatically from nearby schools in the district. While most neighborhood schools like Smith Elementary and Sanders Elementary rank in the bottom half of the state, Windsor Park G/T achieves near-universal academic proficiency. In reading, 96% to 99% of students score proficient across grades 3-5, compared to just 18% to 69% at nearby schools. In math, proficiency ranges from 93% to 96%, while neighboring schools average between 12% and 60%. Even more impressive, Windsor Park students taking the 7th-grade math STAAR have achieved 100% proficiency for three consecutive years, far exceeding the state average of 29-32%. The school also excels with students who often face the greatest challenges—English Language Learners ranked #2 in the state in 2024-2025, and Special Education students ranked #4 in 2025-2026.

Interestingly, while Windsor Park G/T is a Gifted and Talented magnet, its performance for officially designated "Gifted and Talented" students is merely above average (62nd percentile). This suggests the school's environment elevates all students to high levels, making it harder for G/T students to stand out. The school also operates efficiently, spending $9,064 per student—less than every nearby school—while achieving far better results. With only 28.24% of students qualifying for free/reduced lunch, compared to 80-91% at nearby schools, Windsor Park G/T functions as an elite academic enclave within a district that overall ranks in the 49th percentile statewide.

Open Quote This is the best Elementary School that I have seen in Texas. My son has learned advanced mathematical and reading skills. For a third grade student and being able to solve middle school math problems, that is GREAT. Teachers are highly focused on students progress, building high level skills and working closely with each individual student. Close Quote
