Summary

Irene Clinkscale Elementary is a mid-sized school in Burleson, TX, serving 609 students in grades PK through 5 as part of the high-performing Burleson Independent School District (Isd). This school has a strong track record, consistently earning a 4-star rating and ranking in the 74th percentile statewide, which means it performs above the average Texas elementary school. With a healthy student-teacher ratio of 15.2:1 and per-student spending competitive with district peers, Clinkscale offers a solid foundation for learning.

One of the school's standout features is its exceptional performance with male students, who rank in the 83rd percentile statewide—a much higher ranking than any nearby district peer achieves for this subgroup. This suggests the school has developed effective strategies that resonate with boys. Additionally, Clinkscale has shown remarkable improvement in serving its Special Education students, jumping from the 50th percentile to the 76th percentile in just two years. The school also consistently outperforms both the district and state averages in 3rd Grade Reading, with 64.58% of students proficient compared to 52.47% for the district and 51.08% for the state. This early literacy strength is a hallmark of the school's program, setting it apart from nearby schools like Mound Elementary and Frazier Elementary, which have recently fallen below the district average in this metric.

However, Clinkscale faces a notable challenge in 5th Grade Math, where proficiency has lagged behind the district average for three consecutive years—only 46.79% of 5th graders were proficient in 2025-2026, compared to 61.13% for the district. This contrasts with nearby schools like Academy At Nola Dunn and Richard Bransom Elementary, where 5th grade math is a relative strength. Despite this, Clinkscale's overall trajectory is one of sustained improvement, having jumped from the 53rd percentile in 2015-2016 to the 70th-80th percentile range over the last five years. While it is outperformed by the top-tier North Joshua Elementary in the Joshua Independent School District (Isd), Clinkscale is effectively serving its community and achieving strong results, making it a solid choice for families in the area.

Open Quote My daughter is about to begin her second year at Clinkscale Elementary, and we couldnt be more excited! As a Kinder-baby, she was welcomed with genuine warmth and kindness from teachers, administration, and support staff. In our experience Clinkscale creates a fun, safe, and encouraging environment where all students can thrive. Close Quote

Open Quote Some teachers here are amazing but the office staff and Administrative office is rude, petty and unprofessional. I would caution any parent to bring up any concern to them even if your concern has been validated by the teacher. If you have any issues here, try your best to resolve it through your teacher. Sadly this school is one of the worst in the BISD family. Close Quote
