Open Quote This is our second year at Casey Elementary. My daughter attends 1st grade and we have had a good experience with the school. The teachers are dedicated, good listeners, responsive and in my experience, very reasonable. It's obvious they care. The Assistant Principal is wonderful and very approachable.

The only problem the school suffers from is not enough community support. It is a Title 1 school, and the parents simply don't have as many resources as say, the parents at Cowan or Zilker. We need parental support. We need children from a variety of backgrounds at the school. If we could get that, we could all support each other and this school would be truly great. My husband and I could both afford a private school for our kids if we had to, but we really believe that the neighborhood school deserves our support. And it's been a very good experience for us. About Student-Teacher Ratio
Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
