Summary

Imagine International Academy Of North Texas is a K-12 alternative school in McKinney, TX, serving 1,445 students as its own single-school district, and it stands out as a top-tier academic institution in Collin County.

This school delivers exceptional academic results that far exceed state averages. In the 2023-2024 school year, 100% of students were proficient in English II Reading and U.S. History, while 94% achieved proficiency in Biology. Math performance is equally impressive, with 8th graders reaching a 97.92% proficiency rate compared to the state average of 44.81%. The school also boasts a near-perfect graduation rate of 97.7% and a dropout rate that has been effectively 0% for five years. When compared to nearby schools like Founders Classical Academy Of Prosper, which has a 3.6% dropout rate, Imagine's student retention and completion rates are notably superior. The school's performance in upper-grade math also dwarfs that of Founders Classical Academy, which achieved 86.49% proficiency in 8th Grade Math.

Operating as its own Imagine International Academy Of North Texas district allows for a highly focused curriculum and administrative structure, which appears to be a key advantage. The school's consistent upward trend in subjects like Algebra I, which rose from 61.07% to 76.81% proficiency over three years, suggests a continuously improving academic model. While the student body is notably affluent, with only 1.95% qualifying for free or reduced lunch, the school's specific teaching methods and rigorous curriculum are the primary drivers of its success, as evidenced by its outperformance of other similarly affluent charter schools in the region.

Open Quote I am a current student at IIANT. It really is a unique school, the teachers are far better than any I've ever had (And believe me, I've been to many different schools!) And the students are very kind, compassionate, and helpful. My teachers are superb, and the building is always kept clean. The only bad things about it would be that being an IB school, there's lots of homework every night, for a K-12 school, it's awfully elementary based (The library has mostly books for younger students, and spirit nights are always geared for kids under 10.) Also, one of the P.E teachers is quite rude to students, and even other teachers! Other than that, it's a fantastic school. This is the kind of school people would pay large sums of money to attend! (Except they don't, because it's a charter.) Would definitely recommend. Close Quote
