Summary

Universal Academy - Coppell is a public charter school in Coppell, TX, serving 1,302 students from Pre-K through 12th grade and is the flagship campus of the Universal Academy district, which ranks in the top 25% of Texas school districts.

This school stands out for its exceptional academic performance, consistently outperforming its district average and the state across nearly all subjects and grade levels. In the 2024-2025 school year, 100% of students were proficient in English I Reading and 93.75% in U.S. History on End-of-Course exams, scores that rival or exceed those at nearby elite charters like Founders Classical Academy Of Flower Mound. The school also maintains strong math proficiency from 3rd through 8th grade, with scores ranging from 66% to 80%, a consistency that is rare compared to other schools in the area. Notably, the Coppell campus dramatically outperforms its sister campus, Universal Academy in Irving, in every subject and grade level—for example, 7th-grade reading proficiency was 74.6% in Coppell versus 25% in Irving—highlighting the significant impact of the local community on student outcomes.

Despite its high academic output, the school operates with a relatively high student-to-teacher ratio of 20.9:1 and low per-student spending of $5,929, which is far less than the $28,182 spent by the nearby Learning Center in Lewisville ISD. This efficiency, combined with a near-zero dropout rate, suggests a highly structured and effective learning environment. For parents seeking a top-tier academic option in the region, Universal Academy - Coppell offers a compelling choice, especially for families who value strong math and reading outcomes and a safe, engaging school culture.

Open Quote This school is going down the drain. It used to have a good reputation. But, with current management there is zero accountability. They don't care about any complaints or feedback from parents. There are recent incidents where one of the teachers has been behaving badly with the students and treating them badly. Several parents tried to approach management to complaint but they never responded either to emails or requests for a meeting. One of the students even got hurt because of the rude behavior of that teacher. I lost trust in them and moving my kids to another school. Close Quote

Open Quote IN the beginning of the year in 3rd grade it was quite amazing knowing Ms. Davis was the principle at the time, yet again all things must end. Starting 4th grade Ms. Davis has left her position ((She quit)) And that's when the school went going down... After few weeks passed her leaving I started to feel gloomy, because the students started to act up and the original students who attended left leaving me by myself. The new students were quite nice at first till they started to become ruthless and disobedient which might I say made me at a breaking point here I couldn't put up with their nonsense, Years pass me being in 6th grade, all the teachers have been leaving some returning, the teachers became rude as well and selfish, and losing quite many of my papers seeing my grades go down. My grades going down I was starting to give up, seeing kids change behaviors... someone in particularly was new and so helpful and sweet till when he was in the school the next week he was completely changed into some rude student. Victims in the school are bullied I was once bullied, till the only way not get bullied was to act much like them... Which I disliked so much.. Sometimes I wish I can just be in a new school at the time and start off fresh being a wonderful student I used to be...I don't recommend this school whatsoever not even for a new 12th grader.. I beg you if your child comes up to you saying someone or they are getting bullied they may be telling the truth..SO please do listen to your child/ children.. I hope this can at least give a side view of a student myself putting up with these things through almost my whole life I wish you a farewell. Close Quote
