Hardin County High School is a public high school in Savannah, Tennessee, serving 951 students in grades 9–12 as part of Hardin County Schools. Despite its district ranking near the bottom of Tennessee (118th out of 141 districts), the school itself ranks 129th out of 400 Tennessee high schools — putting it in the 68th percentile with a 3-star rating. That's a remarkable turnaround: in 2016–2017, the school sat in the bottom 4% statewide, but by 2021–2022 it had climbed to the 82nd percentile and has stayed in the upper third ever since.

When compared with nearby schools, Hardin County High School comes out ahead on most measures. On 2025–2026 TNReady assessments, it outperformed McNairy Central High School and Adamsville High School in six of seven subjects, with especially large gaps in Algebra II, Geometry, and Biology I. Algebra II proficiency (44.4%) is well above the state average (37.3%), and the school has nearly closed the gap to the state average in English II, which has improved steadily for four straight years.
