Summary:

Spring Hill, Tennessee, is served by one public high school, Summit High School, which enrolls 1,609 students in grades 9–12 and operates within the Williamson County Schools district, the state's #3-ranked district with a 5-star rating. Summit itself is a top-tier, 5-star institution, ranking in the 93rd–94th percentile statewide over the last three years, including a #28 finish out of 400 high schools in 2025–2026. Its graduation rate is a strong 95.6%, far exceeding the state's 90.5%, while its dropout rate of just 1.0% is one-sixth of Tennessee's 6.7% average. The school spends $12,335 per student.

Academically, Summit consistently beats Tennessee state averages by double-digit margins in nearly every subject. Highlights include Geometry proficiency at 77.4% versus 42.3% statewide, English II at 81.7% versus 58.1%, and Algebra I at 59.7% versus 32.3%. The school also showed positive momentum, improving in five of seven subjects year over year, with Algebra I jumping 8.0 points and Algebra II and Geometry each gaining over 7 points. Ninth-grade Algebra I students scored 63.9% proficient, more than double the state's 26.1% rate, and 10th-grade Geometry reached 75.8% proficiency.

There are a few areas worth monitoring. U.S. History proficiency fell sharply from 65.7% to 53.4% in 2025–2026, leaving a 16.6-point gap behind the district average. Tenth-grade Biology I proficiency (39.1%) slipped just below the state average (41.3%), a surprising outlier given the school's strong overall science scores. Chronic absenteeism also stands at 13.8%, which is nearly double the district's 7.4% rate, though still below the statewide 18.3%. Overall, Summit High School is an elite institution with excellent graduation outcomes, standout math and English performance, and a few targeted areas for continued improvement.
