The two middle-grade schools in Watertown School District 14-4 serve 1,107 students across grades 5–8: Watertown Intermediate School - 13 serves grades 5–6, and Watertown Middle School - 02 serves grades 7–8. In 2025–2026, both schools’ all-grades ELA and math results were above the state results, although some grade-level results were less strong: grade 5 ELA at Intermediate was just below the state, and science was below the state at both schools. The clearest area-wide strength is math: all four reported grades exceeded their grade-specific state results, by 1 to 15 points.
Watertown Middle School - 02 had the higher all-grades results: 60% in ELA and 57% in math, compared with 55% and 49% at Watertown Intermediate School - 13.
