Summary:
The 18507 zip code in Pennsylvania is home to one elementary school, Riverside Elementary School East, which serves grades 3-6 and is part of the Riverside School District. While the school has a lower student-teacher ratio and higher per-student spending than the state average, its academic performance on standardized tests consistently falls below the state benchmarks across all grade levels.
Riverside Elementary School East faces significant challenges, with 99.1% of its students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch, indicating a high level of economic disadvantage among the student population. This socioeconomic factor may be contributing to the school's academic struggles, as its performance on PSSA tests in both Math and English Language Arts has remained stagnant over the past three school years, with no notable improvements observed.
Despite the school's efforts to allocate resources, such as a lower student-teacher ratio and higher per-student spending, the data suggests that Riverside Elementary School East is not effectively meeting the educational needs of its students. The school's consistently below-average performance on standardized tests highlights the need for a more comprehensive approach to improving academic outcomes and supporting the predominantly economically disadvantaged student population.
