Open Quote I wouldnt recommend this Christian school to anyone. I enrolled my daughter in this school just after the Columbine massacre so she only had a few months left before school closed but those few months were great. It was quite expensive and for the next school year i attempted to enroll her into a nearby Catholic School. But when i attempted to get her records they drug their feet transferring them. When the next school year was about to begin i decided to enroll her at Calvary Temple Academy again for the full year. It was in that year I discovered things that were unbelievable. There were a couple of the teachers that always wanted to discipline children for things they (the teachers) exaggerated and they would never bring the issues to the parents attention. I noticed also that their bookkeeping was deliberately horrible when it came to keeping track of the parents tuition payments. I noticed that in both years that my daughter was enrolled there, at the end of the year they claimed i owed them hundreds of dollars more than what i actually owed. Back then i paid them in checks and money orders so I had to bring in all my copies of payments so they could see that my payments were timely and accurate in the amounts paid. When this happened at the end of the first school year, i thought nothing of it. But when it happened again at the end of her 2nd year, I knew something was wrong and that this was habitual and deliberate. I felt for the parents that paid in cash and that couldnt find their receipts. They would not release the report cards until they got all of their money or in my case proved to them that they had been paid in full. I was not the only parent that they did this to but it was a good number that they said owed them tuition balances of $500 and up. We all had to scramble to find payment receipts only to discover that most of the parents owed them nothing. After this had happened a 2nd time I knew that i had no plans to re-enroll her there for a 3rd year and I instructed them to release my childs records to the Catholic school and they attempted to drag their feet on me again. Everytime that I went there to get her records they always had an excuse as to why they couldnt release them and their main excuse was because it needed the principal's signature and he was conveniently absent or too busy. And finally when it got 2 weeks of the new school year beginning I finally put my foot down and let them know that i wasnt leaving their office until I got my childs records. I was prepared for them or me to have to call the cops because I was determined to have my child's records in my hands and no more excuses! The secretary at that time had the audacity to ask me why would I want to enroll my daughter in a Catholic School? So I knew then that they had a problem with that. The Catholic school was $250 less a month than Calvary Temple and I would later discover that the Catholic school's education was more advanced and so was the Christian love that they showed my daughter. During the summer i had to pay for tutoring for math for my daughter all because they had changed math teachers 4 times in the school year and a lot of the children had to learn the teachers teaching style before learning what was taught and each teacher taught something different on the subject. There were a few other problems that we encountered with my daughter at this school that I was compelled to write the head Pastor a letter telling him about everything He never ever responded. My daughter not only went to school at the academy but we went to their church every Sunday and gave generous offerings. I noticed that it was odd that the teachers that were problematic were the ones dancing the hardest and shouting the loudest every Sunday. I hope that Calvary Temple has cleaned up their act, but even if they did I will never set foot in that church or school again. I will do what I can to expose what they have done. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
