As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote As a neighbor, I believe Cheltenham needs to do a more diligent job in screening who actually lives in the township. There is an overall trend today of students attending suburban schools who do not reside in these communities. The township needs to take a more microscopic approach to enrollment.

I am all for parents wanting a better education for their children, but it cannot be at the expense of the Cheltenham Township taxpayers.

Cheltenham High School is a very viable and excellent school, even though I was slightly dismayed with the PSSA scores. Hopefully, the future scores for 2011 will reverse this pattern.

Overall, I feel Cheltenham High school is still one of the better schools, considering they cannot select their students as the magnet schools do, but there is still much work to be done to continue the rise to the top.

Keep Up The Good Work! Close Quote

Open Quote I am a student at Cheltenham High School. Class Of 2012. CHS is a wonderful school to send your children to learn alot about wordly matters. CHS offers a lot from Sports, to academic, clubs. Cheltenham is also very well known for it's integrated community. CHS itself is probably 41 percent black and 46 percent white. CHS is fair and also gives students a chance to excercise their rights as young american citizens! ..... And they are also known for their very PROUD SCHOOL SPIRIT .... GO PANTHERS! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
