As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This is by far one of the WORST public schools I've ever witnessed! We just moved to Oregon last year & my daughter begged me to let her go to the local school so that she could meet some kids in the area....BIG mistake!!! The children are horrible to each other, extreme bullying is ignored by teachers and especially the principal. The kids have only 2 books, SS & Math (they didn't even have that till months after school started)....no English or Science books. Most of the kids are failing Math & they even brought in a 2nd Math class in place of PE (yes they take 2 math classes per day & most are still failing & at least a yr behind) yet they still grade for PE (automatic A+ to keep GPAs up). There is hardly ever any homework or ways for parents to help the kids at home (if you ask the teachers they simply direct you to the school website). There are no Art classes. There is no cafeteria, the kids go the elementary school to eat or wander off campus to local stores (or just skip & go home) with no one around to stop them or even care. If you are new to the area, don't make the mistake I did, keep your kids OUT of this school!!! I agree with the students review, the principal/superintendent has no idea how to run a school, and with over 70 kids transferring to another school next year I'm sure its not long till Lowell HS is shut down! Open Quote I have gone to Lowell all my life and they are a terrible school. I'm not just saying this because I'm a student that doesn't like school.. Everybody hates it. Is not well put together and the superintendent has NO idea what he's doing he is terrible and I wish he would leave. Lowell is poor and I know they will eventually shut down. I am now going to a new school this year because there so bad. I feel bad for the kids that are left there.. Cant wait til the day they shut down! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
