Summary:

Zip code 74651 has two Frontier Elementary School (PK–8, 244 students) and Frontier High School (grades 9–12, 85 students), serving 329 students combined. In 2025–2026 all-grades results, the elementary school’s math proficiency was 33%, 8 points above the state’s 25%; its ELA and science results were 12 and 15 points below state results. The high school was below the state in all four reported subjects. The clearest area-wide finding is that math is a relative strength at the elementary school, but neither school matched state results in ELA or science.

The schools stand out in different subjects: the high school’s all-grades ELA result was 23%, 9 points above the elementary school’s 14%, and its science result was 23%, 8 points above the elementary school’s 15%; the elementary school led in math, 33% to 10%, a 23-point difference. Because the schools serve different grade spans, these all-grades figures are not same-grade comparisons. Within the elementary school, fourth grade was a bright spot: ELA was 36% versus 22% statewide, and math was 60% versus 33%. Results generally weakened from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026: elementary science fell from 34% to 15%, while elementary ELA held at 14%; high school proficiency fell in all four reported subjects, including ELA from 29% to 23% and history from 40% to 33%. SchoolDigger gave both schools two stars for 2025–2026; its rankings fell to the 42nd percentile for the elementary school and the 37th for the high school. The schools have similar free/reduced lunch eligible measures for 2024–2025—78% at the elementary school and 80% at the high school—and student-teacher ratios of 9.3 and 8.3, respectively. Chronic absenteeism was low compared with the state in 2025–2026: 1% at the elementary school and 4% at the high school, versus 16% statewide.
