Elgin Elementary School serves 946 students in prekindergarten through fourth grade in Elgin, Oklahoma, and is part of the Elgin district. Its 2025–26 SchoolDigger rank was 122nd of 626 Oklahoma schools, at the 81st percentile and rated four stars. The most important finding for families is that Elgin’s proficiency results are higher than the state, district and nearby-school results in both reported subjects.

Math is Elgin’s strongest comparison, while English Language Arts (ELA) is also a clear strength. In 2025–26, 47% of students were proficient in math, compared with 25% statewide and 32% in the district; Elgin also exceeded the nearby-school average of 24% and the nearby high of 39%. ELA proficiency was 33%, versus 26% statewide and 31% in the district, and was higher than the nearby average of 19% and high of 25%. In both subjects, Elgin also led the nine nearby schools with grade-specific results in third and fourth grade. In 2024–25, 35% of students were free/reduced lunch eligible, compared with nearby-school rates of 63% to 93%; these are contextual differences, not explanations for results. SchoolDigger’s subgroup rankings show a notable change for Special Education Students: their percentile rose from 59 in 2024–25 to 83 in 2025–26, slightly above the school’s overall 81st percentile. I don't know how the student/teacher ratio is determined in this school but my children were there for two years in elementary and they both had 25-30 students for ONE teacher in kindergarten & 1st grade in 2011 & 2012. This is very deceptive in my opinion.
They definitely need more teachers or assistant teachers. They both had incredible but VERY overworked teachers. It isn't fair to the teachers or the studenrs to have so many students in a classroom. Close Quote
