Summary:

Stillwater has eight schools: six elementary schools serving PK–5, one middle school serving grades 6–7, and one high school serving grades 10–12. In 2025–2026, all six elementary schools were above the state in math and science, while two were at or below the state in ELA. The elementary-school averages were 41% in ELA, 51% in math, and 50% in science, compared with state rates of 26%, 25%, and 30%. The most important finding is how widely elementary results differ: the highest and lowest schools were separated by 35 points in ELA, 41 in math, and 43 in science.

Westwood Elementary School led elementary schools in every subject, with 60% in ELA, 72% in math, and 77% in science—34, 47, and 47 points above the state. Richmond Elementary School ranked second, at 56%, 69%, and 65%, respectively. At the other end, Will Rogers Elementary School had the lowest ELA result, 25%, one point below the state; its math and science were above state rates. Highland Park Elementary School had the lowest math and science results, at 31% and 34%. Outside the elementary grades, Stillwater Middle School scored 45% in ELA and 54% in math, 19 and 29 points above the state. Stillwater High School was above the state in grade 11 ELA, math, science, and U.S. History, but its all-grades science result was 28%, below the state’s 30%.

Recent trends vary: elementary averages fell about 4 points in ELA and 2 points each in math and science from 2024–2025, while middle-school results rose 7 points in ELA and 6 in math. Among elementary schools, Sangre Ridge Elementary School had the sharpest declines—7 points in ELA, 11 in math, and 21 in science—while Westwood gained 5 points in math and 11 in science. High-school science fell 7 points to 28%. SchoolDigger ranked Stillwater Middle 10th of 378 schools in 2025–2026 (97th percentile); ranking pools changed across years. Income and staffing figures offer context, not a simple explanation: free/reduced lunch eligible rates for school year 2024–2025 ranged from 29% at Sangre Ridge to 79% at Will Rogers, and student-teacher ratios ranged from 12.6 at Will Rogers to 15.1 at Sangre Ridge. Attendance and graduation add further context: chronic absenteeism was 1% at Westwood and 15% at Stillwater High, while the high school’s 2024–2025 graduation rate was 81%.
