Summary:

The Le Flore area is home to two schools - Leflore Elementary School and Leflore High School. Both schools serve a high-poverty student population, with extremely high free/reduced lunch rates of over 98%. Unfortunately, the academic performance at these schools is significantly below state averages, with low proficiency rates in English Language Arts, Math, and Science.

At Leflore Elementary School, only 6% of students are proficient in English Language Arts and Math, and just 8% are proficient in Science, compared to state averages of 26%, 26%, and 30% respectively. Leflore High School also struggles, with proficiency rates of 17% in English Language Arts, 0% in Math, and 17% in Science. Both schools also have high chronic absenteeism rates of 19%, significantly higher than the state average.

Despite higher-than-average spending per student and lower student-teacher ratios, the schools in the Le Flore district are not achieving the desired academic outcomes.
