Summary:
Healdton has three schools serving prekindergarten through grade 12: Healdton Elementary School (PK–5, 237 students), Healdton Middle School (grades 6–8, 97 students), and Healdton High School (grades 9–12, 149 students). The clearest difference for families is that results vary considerably by school: Elementary leads in math and science, while Middle is below state results in all three reported subjects.
Elementary stands out in math and science, with 28% proficiency in math versus 10% at Middle and 8% at High, and 44% in science versus 27% at Middle and 22% at High. Elementary’s math result is 3 percentage points above the state, and its science result is 14 points above. High leads in English Language Arts I at 34%, compared with 20% at Elementary and 8% at Middle; High is 8 points above the state, while Middle is 18 points below. Middle also trails the state in math by 15 points and science by 3. High’s U.S. History result is 41%, equal to the state.
Results improved overall, but not consistently across schools or subjects. Across the shared school-subject comparisons, the average gap from state results moved 5 points closer to the state. SchoolDigger’s 2025–2026 rankings put High at the 53rd percentile, Elementary at the 51st, and Middle at the 8th. Middle also has the highest student-teacher ratio, 22.2:1, compared with 19.5:1 at Elementary and 18.6:1 at High. In 2024–2025, free/reduced lunch eligible shares were 78% at Middle, 76% at Elementary, and 73% at High; these figures provide context, not an explanation for results.
