Summary:

The eight Deer Creek schools include five elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school, serving grades PK–12. In 2025–2026, all eight scored above the state results in both English language arts (ELA) and math, but school results still varied by as much as 29 points in ELA and 39 points in math. The key takeaway is that area-wide results are above state proficiency levels, but a school’s strengths can differ sharply by subject.

Prairie Vale Elementary led in all-grades math at 72%, 47 points above the state and 20 points above the average of the other seven schools; it also led elementary schools in third-grade ELA and math. Deer Creek High led ELA at 64%, 38 points above the state and 20 points above the other schools’ average, but had the area’s lowest math result, 33%—24 points below the other schools’ average. Spring Creek Elementary had the lowest ELA result at 35%, 13 points below the other schools’ average but 9 points above the state. For a different grade-level comparison, Rose Union Elementary led fourth grade with 51% in ELA and 81% in math.

Recent changes were mixed: the eight-school ELA average fell 1 point, from 47% to 46%, while the math average rose 4 points, from 50% to 54%. Rose Union improved in both subjects, by 9 points in ELA and 12 in math; Spring Creek and Deer Creek High declined in both. SchoolDigger ranked Prairie Vale 5th of 626 elementary schools, Deer Creek High 6th of 462 high schools and Deer Creek Middle 12th of 378 middle schools. Among elementary schools, free/reduced lunch eligible figures for 2024–2025 ranged from 21% at Rose Union to 35% at Spring Creek; these are context, not an explanation for results. Elementary enrollment was similar, yet scores differed; the all-grades comparisons are not fully alike because schools serve different grades.
