Marysville High School is the improving school: it rose from 3 stars to 4 stars and from the 59th to the 73rd percentile, with American Government proficiency jumping 23.5 points to 83.9%. It still trails the district in all six subjects, most notably Algebra I (65.2% vs. 79.8%) and Geometry (50.5% vs. 58.6%), though it beats the state in every subject.

The schools also differ in setting — STEM has a student-teacher ratio of 28.8 versus 20.1, and a free/reduced-lunch rate of 11.42% versus 24.27%.
