Green Elementary School is a K–5 school in Smithville, Ohio, serving 524 students as part of the Green Local district. It remains a solid, above-average school: in 2025–2026 it scored above the state average in every tested subject and ranked in the 69th percentile statewide (3 stars). Still, it has slipped recently. Green was a 4-star school for years, and its rank has moved from the 76th to the 71st to the 69th percentile over the past three years. That drop is worth watching, but it is not a collapse.

Fifth-grade Science (83.9% proficient vs. 62.7% statewide) and fifth-grade ELA (83.9% vs. 70.4%) are Green's strongest results, both near the top of the local group — second only to Norwayne Elementary School in science and Triway Elementary School in ELA. Third- and fourth-grade math also comfortably beat the state.
