Frontier High/Middle School is a small, combined middle and high school in New Matamoras, Ohio, a rural community in Washington County, serving grades 7–12 with 218 students as part of the Frontier Local district.

Academically, the school has a split profile. Its strongest results are in American Government and Biology, both above state levels — in 2025–2026, American Government proficiency was 76.9% and 8th-grade science was 58.3%, both higher than at Marietta High School. Algebra I is the clearest red flag: proficiency fell to 28.6% in 2025–2026, compared with 61.6% statewide and 64.6% at Marietta High School, a sharp drop from 55.8% the year before.
