Schrop's scores differ from Springfield Local's district averages by no more than 1.4 points in any subject, so its academic profile is largely a district-level story. Compared with neighbors, Schrop generally outperforms Akron City middle schools such as Hyre Community Learning Center, Innes Community Learning Center, Akros Middle School, and Summit Academy Akron Middle School, but trails the higher-performing suburban districts and the Akron magnets.

The standout success is attendance: chronic absenteeism fell from 42.2% in 2021–22 to 17.7% in 2025–26, a 24.5-point improvement that outpaces the district's 18-point gain and leaves Schrop far ahead of nearby Akron City middle schools. Overall, families should see Schrop as a high-poverty school with improving attendance, real strengths in 6th-grade math and 5th-grade science, and clear room to grow in 5th-grade English language arts and upper-elementary math.
