Buckeye West Elementary School in Adena, Ohio, is a small PK–5 school serving 172 students in a rural, high-poverty corner of eastern Ohio, one of three elementary schools in the Buckeye Local district. It is the smallest school in its local comparison group by a wide margin — roughly half the size of Buckeye North Elementary School (235 students) and less than a quarter of Harrison Central Elementary School (773).
